Irish Langauge Plan Maigh Cuilinn

Tá Forbairt Phobail Mhaigh Cuilinn agus Conradh na Gaeilge ag obair le chéile chu plean teanga a réiteach do Mhaigh Cuilinn.  Mar chuid den phróiseas seo, tá taighde ar bun leis na tuairimí agus na smaointí atá ag an bpobal anseo a chloisteáil agus ba mhaith linn go mbeidh an oiread daoine agus gur féidir páirteach sa phróiseas seo.

Go luath, scaipfear ceistneoirí ar thuismitheoirí, scoileanna, grúpaí pobail, gnónna agus eile le tuairimí a fháíl ar dhul chun cinn na teanga. Freisin, eagrófar roinnt fócas-ghrúpaí sna míosaí amach anseo le tuilleadh plé a dhéanamh ar stad reatha na Gaeilge agus na féidearthachtaí a bhaineann léi sa todhchaí.

Bainfear úsáid as an taighde seo uilig mar bhunús don phlean teanga. Nuair atá dréacht den phlean teanga curtha le chéile, déanfar comhairliúchán poiblí agus beidh deis eile ag an bpobal tuairimí a léiriú faoin mhéid atá istigh ann.  Beidh an plean teanga níos láidre agus níos éifeachtaí má tá an pobal rannpháirteach sa phróiseas seo, agus is é seo an fáth gur mhaith linn an oiread daoine agus gur féidir a spreagadh le páirt a ghlacadh sa phróiseas taighde seo sna seachtainí amach romhainn.

Forbairt Phobail Mhaigh Cuilinn and Conradh na Gaeilge are working together to develop an  Irish language plan for Maigh Cuilinn.  As part of this process, research is being carried out to hear the thoughts of opinions of the community here and we would like as many people as possible to take part in the process.

Soon, questionnaires will be sent out to parents, schools, community groups, businesses and more to gather opinions about the development of the language.  Also, a series of focus groups will also be organised to facilitate more discussion on the current state of the Irish language and the possibilities for the future.

All this information will be used as the basis for the language plan.  Once a draft of the language plan is ready a public consultation will take place where the community will have another opportunity to share their opinions.  The language plan will be stronger and more effective if the community plays an active role in this process, and this is why we would encourage as many people as possible to take part in the research in the weeks and months to come.
